They are painted on the walls of two houses facing each other. One of the home-owners is a member of my book club and she told me about these murals.
So when I had to be in Haarlem for something else, my husband and I took a walk and went to see.
The name of the street from where you can see the mural, is Kinderhuissingel, and that's why my friend knew it had to be something with children. She had a photo and the artist, Sidney Waerts took care of the rest.
I love the sepia çolours. Dutch children, in clothes of past times, throwing stars.
It's so nice to do such a thing, to have your house painted by an artist, and thus improve the city, the neighbourhood and your house...
The neighbours on the other side of the street got enthusiastic and also had their wall painted. Same atmosphere, same artist: Sidney Waerts.
Thank you Else, for telling me about your house and the mural.
