This work is called Joe's Kid.
Joe owned a cafe in Spital Fields, in the 1930s.
The little girl is his granddaughter, now grown up, and she owned a cafe right here were the portrait was made.
A few years ago I showed another Jimmy C. work here on my blog: David Bowie

Another great Jimmy C piece - I always enjoy his work
Mooi werk. Jammer dat er zoveel rommel voor ligt.
This is incredibly beautiful and so realistic, too. What a fantastic find and a beautiful mural.
Vooral die ogen van het meisje. Erg goed gemaakt. Leuk dat verhaal over de achtergrond.
Reminds me of the "English" style Christmas cards from when we were kids - before we got around to depicting Australian summer Christmas images on our cards.
Mooi portret, goed geschilderd.
I agree with Joan, it looks like a Christmas image. So pretty :) My Mom who lives in Cascais, Portugal, had sent me a photo of the mural he painted there last year. Thanks for contributing Bertie.
...sweet, I like its impressionistic style.
The style is really unusual for street art -- very pleasing. I wish there were no trash piles nearby.
