This is a blue plaque.
There are lots of them in London: linking famous people from the past to buildings or streets from today. I found a lot of them.
Dedicated to very different persons, such as P.L. Travers, Charles Dickens and Freddy Mercury.
I found this one in Shoreditch, the walhalla of Street Art in London.
Dedicated to the (American) inventor of the spray paint, Ed Seymour. He put paint in a spray can for the first time and the patent was awarded in 1951.
So thanks to Ed Seymour, our world is more colourful. He deserved this plaque.

At first it reminded me of a Banksy. How interesting to learn about the Blue Plaque.
Nice mural Bertie. So nice that those people are being honoured with the blue plaques. Ed certainly deserves one for the spray paint can, we all use it!

Mooie deze.
Ik heb ook al heel wat blue plaques gevonden en vind het altijd interessant om ze te lezen.
Ik ben ze nog niet tegengekomen, eens kijken of we die hier ook hebben.

Zo'n boed wel eens gezien, maar het verhaal erachter niet geweten. Weer wat geleerd en Zo'n spuitbus is een mooie uitvinding.
