The artist is Alaniz and he is from Argentina. This work of art is titled Lack of sense of emengency.
It is based on a photo of a Syrian child. A photo by David Gross. In using a red light, Alaniz emphasizes how our distracted society fails to recognize the sense of emergency of such situations.

I think in the street it would be more effective.

Wat een mooi werk. Omdat ik er helemaal geen verstand van heb, heb ik ook geen idee of dit street art is.

Street art is for everyone to see without having to venture inside a gallery.
But it's a great mural - I'd love to see it outside on a wall, shouting out its important message
Het mooie van streetart vind ik dat je het onverwacht op straat tegen kan komen. Zomaar als verrassing. Of je déze werken echt streetart mag noemen, weet ik niet.
Het is weer een mooi werk dat je laat zien.
Ik zet het in ieder geval op mijn lijst. Sterker nog het stond er al. Wat een indrukwekkend schilderij. Zou het buiten kunnen hangen wat de verf betreft? Dan is het ook streetart.
Vind eigenlijk dat als ze in een museum hangen de boodschap die ze verspreiden een beetje verloren gaat voor die mensen waarvoor het bedoeld is.
Tja, thats's the question, het is wel een beetje twijfelachtig om het dan street art te noemen.
Do you mean it was painted on a wall outdoors and brought into the museum? In that case, I guess it’s street art. But I wouldn’t classify a conventionally painted work in a museum as street art. It’s not the content or the political intent, in my opinion, but the context where the work was created, and the relationship with the intended audience — art museum goers or just passers=by.

This is powerful and poignantly beautiful.
Er hangen zonder meer prachtige werken in dat museum, maar echte straatkunst is op straat te zien. In mijn beleving dan hè !
Het is juist mooi wanneer je ergens loopt of fietst en dan plotseling, wanneer je door een tunneltje gaat of een een hoek om, oog in oog staat met een werk. Al dan niet met een boodschap, confrontatie of gewoon om een buurt of ons op te vrolijkend. Groot of klein is eigenlijk niet zo van belang.
Prachtig. Maar ook wel een beetje een verdrietig beeld vind ik.
Mooie schilderijen. Die inderdaad buiten horen.
Het is prachtig, maar ook verdrietig. En echte straatkunst zou toch ook op straat te zien moeten zijn, vind ik.
Meteen toen ik de foto zag dacht ik vluchteling, Syrië. Dus of het nu in een museum hangt of dat het op straat is te zien maakt mij eigenlijk niet uit, het vraagt aandacht voor een wereldwijd probleem.

Het is inderdaad erg mooi. In eerste instantie deed het me aan zo'n schilderij van een huilend zigeunerkind denken.
