I think it's a really beautiful painting. I am an admirer of Willink's work. Style: Magic realism.
So it was a big surprise for us, the other week in Arnhem, to see this big mural:
We were cycling around, trying to find the way back to our hotel and all of a sudden, we recognized and enjoyed the mural.
The Arnhem Museum celebrates its centenary with a gift to the city. This version of Willink's painting has been unveiled on a blank wall along Utrechtse weg.
This piece of art is painted by 'De Strakke Hand'. A Dutch painting collective of artists that joined forces to paint huge murals in the urban landscape.

Het is een mooie mural, vind ik toch kunstig gedaan. Hans
“De strakke hand” doet zijn naam eer aan met dit schilderij, prachtig om daar zo onverwachts op de stuiten zoals Bertie!
